Top Ten NBA Fantasy Basketball Studs from January 28, 2009
See my full daily NBA fantasy basketball rant here.
Kevin Durant–35 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, leading the Okies to their 8th win in the last 14 games, and narrowly avoiding an embarassing home overtime loss to the execrable Grizzlies.
Vince Carter–27 points, 10 boards and five assists, in a HBUF G-WL (that would be “heroic, but ultimately futile” and ”gut-wrenching loss”) at home to the Raptors.
Josh Smith–26 points, 12 caroms and two assists, going an unfortunate 2-for-10 from the stripe, as Atlanta loses to the Knicks in New York.
Charlie “Occasionally” Villanueva–28 points, eight boards and four assists, leading the Redd-less Bucks to a road loss in Indianapolis. With Redd gone for the season, we may have to change his moniker to “Frequently”.
T.J. Ford–34 points, a rebound and three assists, morphing from point guard to shooting guard, leading the Pacers to a home win against the Bucks. With Danny Granger nursing a knee, someone had to step up, and it was T.J.
Devin Harris–25 points, three boards and 10 dimes, getting second billing in the Vince and Devin Show, and missing the open game-winner in the aforementioned gut-wrenching home loss to Toronto.
Rasheed Wallace–25 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and no technicals as Detroit grinds the T-Wolves in Minneapolis, bad chemistry and all.
Jeff Green–23 points, nine boards and four assists, teaming up with his running mate Kevin Durant to hold off the miserable Grizzlies in Okieland.
Rajon Rondo–24 points, three rebounds and nine assists, stirring the drink in Beantown as the Celtics crush the Kings.
Jason Thompson–21 points, 11 caroms and four assists, filling up the stat sheet while Sacramento gets worked by the Celtics.
Marvin Williams–28 points, seven boards and an assist as Atlanta allows the Knicks to shoot 50% from the floor, in a losing effort in Madison Square Garden. Next time, more defense.
